I’m James Michael Russell, Jr., a writer spending time between my hometown of Fort Worth, Texas and Plainfield, Vermont, where I’m studying the intersections among the arts, culture and society at Goddard College. I’ve worked as an assistant editor and social movements reporting fellow for the digital nonprofit progressive newsmagazine Truthout.org. As a freelancer, I have been published in both digital and print outlets, including The Antiochian, Fort Worth Weekly, The Huffington Post. Right now I write about the arts and cultural life on my blog and occasionally at other publications. I also volunteer as the book reviews section editor at the blog New Clear Vision. I’m particularly interested in reviewing and reporting on the visual arts, books and movies. I’m happy to travel for stories. I welcome invitations, criticism, hate mail and flowers as well.
