About James

IMGP3982I’m James. I’m a freelance writer in Fort Worth, Texas covering art, design, architecture, and politics, primarily in Texas, who is open to work.

I am the arts correspondent for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a regular contributor to Arts and Culture Texas, D Magazine, Next City, Texas Observer and Quorum Report. I previously was the art and architecture critic at the Fort Worth Weekly. Additionally, my work has appeared in CityLab, Texas Jewish Post, Jewish News Syndicate, INTO (which has since closed), the Huffington Post, Generation Progress (formerly Campus Progress), Star Trek and Counterpunch.org

I was the web editor for the Gay and Lesbian Review Worldwide, the book reviews section editor for New Clear Vision, which was affiliated with the academic Peace and Justice Studies Association, a Dallas Voice staff writer and calendar editor and an assistant editor and reporter for Truthout.org.

I also contract with multiple clients coordinating editorial strategy, including ghostwriting commentaries, letters to the editor and social posts, researching and content editing and writing.

I live in what Apartment Therapy would describe as “an eclectic, art-filled home” with my Chow Chow Terrier mix Bono.

I want to write for and work with you.
